Stunning site far away from mass tourism in the South East of Martinique, offering a fantastic view and sound of the ocean. Our ten Bungalows are air conditionned and equipped with every modern comfort.
Welcome to the haven of peace and tranquility.
The 10 air-conditioned water front bungalows are separated into three modern concrete buildings (in the seventies). The decoration has been renovated by an interior architect in a “Natural wood” style. Each bungalow is approximately 48m² with a mezzanine and a terrace, literally on the edge of the lagoon from which you will have an unobstructed view of the ocean.
For two to four, they are airy, spacious and comfortable. Every bungalow comes with a double size bed and two singles beds in the mezzanine, air-conditioned, as well as an equipped kitchenette (table, chairs, fridge, and freezer, cooking plates, oven, micro wave, barbecue, coffee machine, toaster, orange squeezer, iron and the entire needed cutlery) which allows for private family meals.
The bathrooms are very spacious with hot water in every one. A veranda at the entrance allows for beach equipment storage. Four of the bungalows provides a double bed downstairs, bedside tables and a convenient dresser and in the mezzanine with 2 single beds (90 X 190) a storage shelf between the beds. Six of them provides a little living room downstairs with 2 trundle beds (80 X 190) a double bed (160 X 190) while in the mezzanine with either a dresser or a desk.
Le François in Martinique is composed of many living quarters spreading out all along the Atlantic coast. The pointe de la Prairie spreads out to many acres and the bungalows de la Prairie offers you a part of this coast. Le François is knowed from the world over thanks to L’habitation / Musée Clément, one of our AOC rum in martinique. At an equal distance from the villages of Vauclin (with it’s lovely markets on the beach, it’s great inexpensive little restaurants, it’s mountain with amazing sight points and nautical centre for wind surfing etc…) and François (with it’s fantastic little islands, it’s commercial centre and the Clément rum factory etc…).
The bungalows are only 20 minutes away from the international Lamentin airport as well as the worldly acclaimed Trois Ilets golf course. Located toward the centre of the island, it is just as easy to go to the magnificent beaches of the south and middle distance from the tropical forest of the North. After such a full and exciting day out, you will be delighted to get back to « your bungalow » in which you will feel right at home in a peaceful and very private environment from which you will be able to enjoy a wonderful moon rise while eating a freshly caught lobster.
The Bungalows de la Prairie is an ideal accommodation for couples and families wishing to spend unforgettable vacation in Martinique. All in whole in a calm and friendly setting.
My husband and I stayed in bungalow number 6 this week. First We were so impressed with the communication when booking and directions given before arrival. The bungalow is adorable, beautiful breezes, no need to use the ac. Gorgeous view and lovely swimming right out front off the pier, with nice stairs to go in from. You can rent a kayak. There is a coral reef out front, a ways out….apparently great snorkeling on a calm day. It is windy and breezy in the Islands in February so don’t expect calm like on the Caribbean side. BUT the breeze is lovely, cool for sleeping. Nice comfy bed and linens. Well supplied kitchen. You can stock up in Le Francois at the grocery, or in Dostely at the little grocery. People are very friendly and helpful with my minimal French ….this is a great location, 30 minutes to Lamentin, airport and a bit further to Fort de France. Close to Vauclin where there are a number of excellent restaurants….and a great beach with kite surfers. And close enough to explore the Caribbean bays, about 50 min away and St Anne beach about 40 min away….we can’t wait to return to this little oasis. There are 10 bungalows, but it feels very private and quiet!! Really great spot. Thank you Sandy
