Honored for Romance Antigua
All-Inclusive located in St. John's, AntiguaThe Galley Bay Antigua All-Inclusive offers only 98 guest rooms, and is the complete opposite of a big scale resort. Intimate, luxurious, and finely appointed, these are only a few reasons we named it as Best in Romance in Antigua 2013. You will find the attention to detail found on the resort extends to the customer service delivered by the resort.
Galley Bay is in St. John's, Antigua, about six-and-one-half kilometers from the capital city. Close enough to allow you easy exploration, but far enough to provide the seclusion and quiet one desires on a romantic vacation. The property is a full 40 acres, with almost a full kilometer of beach access.
Live entertainment, complimentary water sports, multiple restaurants and bars, spa services, in-room massages ... this and so much more awaits. We love that Galley Bay has all the amenities of a big scale resort, but in a quiet and decompressed setting of an intimate boutique resort.
The luxury suites are superbly laid out, and although you will find the expected high end furnishings, the decor offers fun touches of Caribbean flare. A decorative lamp or colorful lounge chair add to the atmosphere and easily put a smile on your face. It is these small gestures that make a big impact and separate this luxury resort from the rest.
Galley Bay Resort & Spa All Inclusive extends along an 800-m (875-yd) beach washed by the turquoise Caribbean Sea, which remains calm in most weather. For freshwater swimming there's a 21.25-m (70-ft) freeform pool styled like a mountain pool, with granite-like lining, rocks along edges, and a large multi-level rock waterfall at pool's head. An adjacent sundeck is furnished with thatched shades. The resort supplies snorkeling gear, small sailboats, windsurfers, and kayaks. Motorboating, ecotours, parasailing, and surfing can be found nearby. Fat-tired bicycles suitable for riding on the beach are also furnished. Ping-Pong under a thatch roof exemplifies the resort's open-air ambience. Three times weekly a pro provides a tennis clinic on an unlighted artificial-grass court and offers private lessons for surcharges. An 800-m (875-yd) jogging path circles a lagoon maintained as a bird and waterfowl sanctuary within the resort's 40 acres.
