If looking for delicious food and an intimate setting Du Mexique offers both. The surroundings of unique artwork coupled with fine linens play right into the menu to be served; fun sophistication. The servers are extremely warm and friendly, often the owners themselves are the ones to serve you. Reservations are strongly suggested, and although they ask for a $50 deposit up front, don't worry your table will be ready and the deposit more than worth it. As a small establishment they can only accept so many guests and the deposit ensures everyone shows up for their reservations.
Du Mexique is another one of the amazing restaurants on Bonampak avenue in downtown Cancun. This is a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday. Located in what used to be a house, the divine ambiance, service and food make this restaurant stand out on the endless list of Cancun restaurants. Chef Alain Grimond and his wife Sonya prepare and serve the food themselves. The cuisine is an interesting combination of Mayan and French. Have an appetizer in the lounge or "sala", move to the 20 seat dining room for dinner, and have dessert on the patio. If you would like something special that you don't see on the menu, ask and if it's possible, they will prepare it for you.
Don't miss out on a night at Du Mexique, especially if you are looking for a romantic meal in Cancun.
