Bayview Lodge is a superior self-catering lodge, on the beautiful Barra peninsula, with an estuary behind and a l-o-n-g sandy beach in front of the lodge. It's a place to leave your stress behind, explore the underwater wonderland on your doorstep and enjoy the night sky, far away from bright city lights.
Also welcome to enjoy all your meals in our famous pub/restaurant - The Green Turtle - directly ON the beach and run by French husband and wife team - Joelle and Francois. Considered to be one of the best restaurants in Mozambique according to TripAdvisor. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. There are several other little pubs and restaurants in the area too, all within easy walking distance of the lodge.
We are approximately 485km north of Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique, and 25km from Inhambane town, in Inhambane province. All roads leading to the lodge are tarred, except for the last 4km, which is dirt road, but easy to navigate with a normal passenger vehicle. NO 4x4 vehicle needed to get to us, but good to have if you wish to explore off the beaten track.
Also possible to fly-in - landing at Inhambane airport. Flights from Johannesburg (South Africa), to Maputo and on to Inhambane.
Accommodation are either in one or two-bedroom houses, or in our Group House (ideal for group of friends/family, overland groups, dive groups, etc) and all bedrooms are air-conditioned. All houses are within 50-90m from the beach, with sea views and are serviced daily except on Sundays and public holidays.
Houses are fully equipped for self-catering and we provide all linen and bathroom towels, but guests must bring their own beach towels with. Each house has a small safe and lockable wooden chest for valuables.
FREE WiFi in our reception area, if you really need to check on things back in the office or at home.
Also have a swimming pool and are currently building a small conference centre (max. 30 delegates), which will be operational by early 2018.
Lots to do in the area and welcome to contact us for more information.
