Two young friends, a single ambition: one experienced cook, another entrepreneur from the end of the palate, together we wanted to start a successful restaurant in our beloved island of Ortigia. A source of tastes and flavors to offer with elegance and warmth.
Perle d'Ortigia is located in the historic center of Syracuse in the charming neighborhood of Bottai, in the past the place was bustling with craftsmen and traders in the Middle Ages.
The name, Perle d'Ortigia, is meant as a reminder to the sea and its fruits through the oyster and the pearl of the taste of our chef Roberto's cuisine. Candelai and the Rope Makers, devoted respectively to the trade of all types of waxes and ropes which is now the headquarters of the two entrances of the restaurant.
The Restaurant has a indoor garden, open kitchen and courtyard. Looking simple and nice the location offers a simple, yet redefined elegance and a professional welcome that combines the experience of meter than once that operated the kitchen to the lamp and the modern multilingualism required to meet the needs of our large clientele of tourists.

Roberto, the chef of Perle d'Ortigia, with dedication has compiled a menu that highlights the goodness of the raw material in its simplicity, the freshness of the catch of the day and all the ingredients that our beloved Sicily offers. Here are some of our most appreciated dishes in the poached octopus nero d'avola, swordfish parmigiana, fettuccine shrimp and peppers and the bass patty on cream of mussels. The kitchen of Ortigia Perle prepares daily homemade fresh pasta like; macaroni, spaghetti and linguine, as well as most of its desserts including cannolata and our beloved almond parfait.
Every morning we shop for the raw material, meat, fish and vegetables at the Old Market of Ortigia, the rest is carefully selected from local producers that still maintain the tradition because each ingredient , it must be purchased in the right place.
